Feedback of Keyter Mark, Histopathologist Institute of Pathology, CHUV, Lausanne. Internship experience in LPCE laboratory and Biobank, CHU Nice, IHU RespirERA.
I had the privilege of completing a six-week internship at the Laboratory of Clinical and Experimental Pathology, CHU Nice, IHU RespirERA, from February 17, 2025, to March 28, 2025, as part of the European Masters in Molecular Pathology.
This internship provided me with valuable exposure to an array of molecular diagnostic techniques in a dynamic and professional environment. My focus during the internship was on HER2 alterations in non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC), providing hands-on experience in tissue and liquid-based next-generation sequencing (NGS), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and related methodologies. This not only deepened my understanding of HER2-driven oncogenic pathways but also enhanced my technical skills in molecular pathology workflows.
I am extremely grateful for the guidance and mentorship I received, and I highly recommend this internship to anyone seeking comprehensive, real-world experience in the field of molecular pathology within a leading academic research setting.
