As part of the current worldwide health crisis, scientific research is on the front line of the battle against SARS-CoV-2. Laboratories all around the world are working hard to find treatments, vaccines, and some robust diagnostic tests, to discover new aspects of the SARS-CoV2 pathogenicity in order to contain this outbreak.
The Biobank Nice Côte d’Azur (BB-0033-00025) is taking part in this fight against the COVID19 pandemic. A biological resources collection named Biobank Nice COVID19 has been set up and is growing overtime. The purpose is to be able to provide researcher high quality SARS-CoV-2 infected samples. This collection constituted of blood and its derivatives (plasma, serum and PBMC) has been part, but not only of a research project called ELISpot-COVID for the early detection of immune response against the COVID-19.
The samples that will not be used in this research project will be added to the biobank COVID19 collection under the responsibility of Professor Hofman for further requests and research projects.
Now more than ever biobanks are needed and essentials actors of the the scientific research.
The following videos show the health protection measures adopted in Biobank Côte d’Azur for the manipulaion of SARS-CoV-2 infected samples
